Crime Fundamentals 3

Crime Fundamentals 3 is the third part of the Crime Fundamentals series by whatabaudio — and the first one made exclusively for u-he’s Zebra HZ / Dark Zebra. It offers 200 cinematic presets, full of character and ready for production.

Crime Fundamentals 3 shifts the focus towards the low end and suspenseful sound design. You’ll find a huge range of basses — from deep sub drones to punchy, driving pulses — and a large palette of sound effects. These aren’t your typical trailer risers: small flickering gestures, eerie atmospheres or quirky bells that set an uneasy mood without fighting the dialogue. The extended engine of Zebra HZ / Dark Zebra — the heavily used resonator module in particular — gives it a rawer, darker sound that blends perfectly with picture.

These aren’t patches made in a vacuum: they’re battle-tested and pulled from real scoring sessions, including Germany’s biggest crime-drama series SOKO Leipzig. If it doesn’t work to picture, it’s not in there.
